Post-Op Facial or Neck Incision Instructions

• Start with clear liquids after surgery then progress your diet as tolerated.
• Take antibiotics, pain medication and nausea medication as prescribed.
• Do not take NSAIDS – Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil) or products that contain NSAIDS until approved by your doctor.
• Keep incisions clean by washing gently with soap and water and applying antibiotic ointment Bacitracin 2-3 times daily.
• You may shower after 24 hours after surgery, using precaution if a drain tube is present.
• Use a light dressing if needed to catch drainage from the incision or to prevent soiling or staining.
• Call if you develop a fever or any redness, swelling, heat and/or pain around the incision site.
• Call my office with any other concerns or questions.

Instrucciones de incisión postoperatoria facial o de cuello

• Empiece con una dieta de liquidos claros despues de la cirugia y luego avance con su dieta normal segun la tolere.
• Tome antibiotico, medicamentos para el dolor y nausea segun las indicaciones.
• No tome NSAIDS – Aspirina, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil) o productos que contienen NSAID hasta que sea aprobado por su medico.Mantenga las incisiones limpias lavandolas cuidadosamente con agua y jabon y aplicando la pomada antibiotica Bacitracin 2-3 veces al dia.
• Puede banarse despues de 24 horas de la cirugia, con precaucion si tiene un tubo de drenaje  presente.
• Utilice una gasa ligera si es necesario para detener el drenaje de la incision o para evitar ensuciarse o mancharse.
• Llame si desarrolla fiebre o cualquier enrojecimiento, hinchazon, calor y/o dolor alrededor del sitio de la incision.
• Llame a mi oficina si tiene alguna pregunta o preocupacion.
