Avni Patankar, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Patankar joined this practice in July of 2015. She completed her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology at Kennesaw State University. Her first work experience in the field of communication disorders and sciences was with Marcus Institute (Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta) where she worked as a Behavior Data Specialist. Her experience with Marcus Institute developed a discipline in her to pursue a degree and career in Audiology. She began her education in Audiology at Auburn University in Auburn, AL and in 2007, she chose East Tennessee State University for her doctoral degree.
Avni completed her Audiology externship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center (UCDMC) in Sacramento, CA where she had an opportunity to focus on her interest in Pediatric Audiology. She did her doctoral research on finding Normative Data for the Words-in-Noise Test for 6-to-12-Year old Children which was published in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research in 2010. She graduated in May of 2011 with her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree and has been practicing since then. Prior to working at our practice, she worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Pediatric E.N.T of Atlanta. Her areas of special interest include pediatrics including Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing. She also sees patients of all ages for diagnostics and hearing aids. Dr. Patankar is an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
